    Oh my gosh, your review of Biggles has unearthed some long-repressed memories. I will now have to watch it again…at some undetermined point in the future. I think I was quite traumatised by the scene with the chap who’d been baked by the sonic weapon.

    I now remember that even when I watched this film, aged 9, I realised that the feedback loop thing was a heap of old tosh and wouldn’t work. Also, I didn’t like that it had Americans in for no real reason. I have mellowed a bit since then and have seen several films with Americans in.

    Interestingly, if I search IMDB for “Biggles”, it thinks I probably meant “John Lithgow”.
